Privacy Policy
Effective September 21, 2026
Inference Consulting is the business name of Maxson Choe, a sole proprietor based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
Information you give us. When you email us or book a call through our scheduling page, we receive what you send: usually your name, email address, company, and anything you write about your business or the call.
Client project information. When we work together, we may handle business data you share with us to deliver the work. That information is covered by our written agreement with you, kept confidential, and used only for your project.
Website data. This site has no analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider records standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the site. The site also loads fonts and scripts from third-party content delivery networks, which receive your IP address as part of normal page loading.
Business contact information. If we email you first, we used business contact details that your company has published or that are available from business data providers, and we only contact you about work relevant to your role.
How we use it
- To reply to you and schedule calls.
- To scope, deliver and invoice work we do together.
- To send business emails you can opt out of at any time.
- To keep this website running and secure.
We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we use to run the business, such as our website host (Vercel), our scheduling tool (Cal.com) and our email provider (Google Workspace), with professional advisers like an accountant, or when the law requires it. These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Records tied to paid work are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe. Every commercial email we send includes a way to opt out. You can also reply asking to be removed. We act on opt-out requests within 10 business days.
- Access and correction. You can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw consent. You can ask us to stop using or to delete your information, unless we are required to keep it by law.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
